What to expect at your first visit:
Your first visit will last 60 minutes and be performed by a licensed physical therapist who will conduct a full initial evaluation for the injury/deficit for which you are seeking help. The therapist will use a variety of tests and measures, as well as asking specific information in order to develop an appropriate plan of care.
Please bring to your evaluation appointment:
Each subsequent visit at KEY will be 45 - 60 minutes long. You will receive one on one care with your Physical Therapist. Your personalized treatment plan may include the following: manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, gait training, and fall prevention. It may also include a modality such as electrical stimulation (E-stim), ice/moist heat or Game Ready vasopneumatic compression depending on your plan of care. Your progress will be closely tracked and re-evaluated often. We hope our patients will be active participants in their recovery and we encourage you to voice any and all concerns throughout your treatment.
Answer: We accept and file with many companies. Please understand that every insurance plan offers different options and benefits, so it is a good idea to call your insurance company directly to find out about your specific plan benefits for physical therapy.
We participate with the following insurance companies:
*We do provide discounted cash pay options for those without insurance and often times cash payments will decrease long term costs.
Answer: Yes. We will file claims directly with your insurance and you will be billed for any amount owed toward your deductible or co-insurance. However, if your plan has a co-pay, we require payment at the time of service for each visit.
Answer: You will want to wear or bring comfortable clothing–something that will give us access to the body part you are seeking treatment for. Please also remember to bring your insurance card and the prescription from your doctor if you have one.
Answer: No. Idaho is a Direct Access state, which means you can come directly to a physical therapist for evaluation of your injury. While you can come to physical therapy without a doctor’s referral, the physical therapist may still recommend that you seek treatment from a physician depending on the findings at your evaluation appointment. Your insurance company may also require a doctor’s prescription in order to cover your physical therapy treatments. Medicare, for example, requires a doctor’s prescription or referral to receive physical therapy services.
